Living on Inspiration

Jewelry Organization

I am all about jewelry, and I am all about organization. I’m currently in the process of combining the two. A jewelry armoire would be fabulous, but I’m not willing to dish out the necessary cash to purchase one. {some day} There are some great ideas out there, many of which have inspired me to come up with my own design concept. It will be a work in progress. Here are some of my inspiration.

Okay, I have spent enough time searching for inspiration. I need to figure the rest out on my own. Then, to Home Depot.

Thanks for stopping by!

all the trimmings

molding

I love this new series I’ve started, “our dream home.” While I’m living my island life, I’m dreaming about my future home. This series allows me to document ideas & designs that will one day be incorporated into our dream home. Today’s post is all about the details. Character. And lots of it. Incorporating trim work, molding, & tons of woodwork is where it’s at for me. Every room. I love every one of these inspirational photos!

molding + gallery wall

crown molding

Check out the detail in the molding. OMG.

crown molding inside tray ceiling

This picture is all me. I am a huge fan of tray ceilings, significantly high baseboard, & a rounded archway. AH!

Molding Wall Tutorial

I wish that I could have found an after picture of this room. Although this wall alone captures me.

BM Chelsea Gray. This color keeps popping up a lot for entry ways. Loving the molding

Simple & elegant. I’ll take it!

Love the blue polkadots, molding and the banners

I just became an 8 year old girl again. I love this room…but more importantly I’m dying over the vertical trimmings.

molding

Again, the molding detail. Wow.

floor to ceiling board & batten molding + mantle + marble surround + texture- the strange Native American.

Do vertical and horizontal planks, separated by molding. Even easier, buy the 8'x4' sheets. for sunroom - ceiling

Mixing both horizontal & vertical details is very risky. This works. !!

molding

I don’t know if I’ll be gutsy enough to do a difficult pattern, but this is cool.

Love the contrasts here: mid-century chair, minimalist fireplace, classic wall molding. Goregous.

This is dreamy. One of my favorites.

Are you drooling yet? I am. Not many people dream about molding & woodwork. I do.

DIY Artwork

I am a huge fan of artwork. I am an even bigger fan of DIY. This post if all about merging the 2. Here goes:

(click on photo to go to original post)

Check it out, another chevron piece of art. I’m a sucker for glitz & glitter…

You could make this pretty with any shape/colors of your choice. LOVE!

Ombre is such a neat “fad”…How easy would this piece be to DIY. Canvas, brush, and probably                                                                 3 shades or your desired colors. Bam!

Go fall in love with a a fabric & toss it in a frame for a classy piece of art!

We just used fabric…now we’re switching to scrapbook paper…CHEAP and fun!

I don’t have a website to link this last one to, but it’s the most unique. I think this is so genius!                                                 Thumbtacks… Options are unlimited!

Hopefully these have inspired you to start your own DIY wall art. I’ve been inspired, for sure.

We’re still getting “settled”…and I’m still enjoying too much Netflix. signature

Pinterest Plans

I am currently back in the states, at my mom’s house, until my brother’s wedding in 2 weeks. This will be a crazy time of finishing wedding decor, spending lots of time with the fam, and missing the Puerto Rican. (he gets to come for the weekend of the wedding) Obviously, I need to wait to post any pictures/details regarding the wedding…so, I’ll wait. :)

I have big plans in getting all artsy-fartsy and crafty with all of my spare time when I get back to the island. I also look forward to getting messy in the kitchen with some new recipes. All of the hours slaved away on Pinterest will soon pay off! I figured I would pick out 10 recipes/crafts/ideas on that I have pinned over the past year or so. These will all be attempted and blogged about in the near future. (fingers are crossed)
