Living on Inspiration

Dress: Kohls | Heels: Shoes Carnival | Earrings: Icing | Necklace: Pier 1 Import | Watch: Fossil

#10 of the 30×30 Challenge

I tricked you yesterday, so I figured I’d make it all make sense. This is the dress that I camouflaged to look like a top.

I love a lot of things about this dress: lace | fit | scooped back | zipper | length | color …etc. I purchased it last summer from Kohls, Candies collection. I wore it for my wedding rehearsal/dinner. It is a great PR outfit, quick go-to dress.

If you have never shopped at Pier 1 Imports for your home, you need to go tomorrow. While you are there, check out their fantastic little jewelry collection. That’s where I found this gorgeous necklace. It is one-of-a-kind, for sure. So unique.

I don’t think I have mentioned on here yet, but Victor’s grandfather passed away last weekend. He had been battling several health problems for quite a few years. He slipped into eternity Thursday late afternoon. I am so thankful I was able to know him for the short time I did. Even more than that, I am beyond thankful that he knew Jesus, and we will be reunited with him one day in Heaven. The promises of God become more real the older I get. Blessed.

Top: Target | Skirt: JCPenney | Heels: Off Broadway Shoes | Necklace: AE | Watch: Fossil

#8 of the 30×30 Challenge

Okay, I have been loving all of the crazy beautiful bling-ified skirts that seem to catch my eye wherever I go. About a month ago I searched the www for a few options. I came across this one at JCPenney, and it was on clearance, $14. Not bad. We went to the mall the next day, and I stopped by to see if they had it available in store, before I paid shipping. There it was, one lonely pretty hanging all by itself in my size. It gets better. It had a cute little red sticker stamped $5. Did I mention I had a 20% mobile coupon? I did, so this blinged out skirt only cost 16 quarters + tax. Does it get much better than that??????

I wore this to go to dinner with mom & Victor. I didn’t want to be too dressy, so I went with a more casual top. I also ended up tossing on some leopard flats later in the evening.

Today was day one of laying out at the beach with my madre. Slowly but surely the freckles will pop, I’ll burn, and then possibly look like a golden goddess. Or a tomato. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Rose Gold & Lace

Top: Carsons | Blazer: Kohls | Pants: Aerie | Shoes: Kohls | Earrings: Macy’s | Watch: Fossil

Outfit number 2 of my 30×30 challenge!!

I am fascinated by rose gold. My wedding had touches of it all over, including the halo around the diamond on my wedding ring. Not only was this top on clearance a few months back, but it had the coolest design with some rose gold studs. I didn’t have to think twice. Now, let’s talk about lace. In my opinion, it is classic and there’s no way to go wrong with lace. It screams elegance and sophistication. This is one of my favorite pieces of clothing, you will most likely see it plenty over the next 28 outfits. {If you would have told me at age 16 that I would wear lace on my wedding day, I would have flipped. I even covered my programs in lace with a sewing machine…}

I had other shoes that would have looked better, but they weren’t including in my challenge… I figured, you can’t go wrong with some animal print to complete an outfit. So, there you go: 2 down, 28 to go!

Olive + Bubblegum

An unlikely pair. I know. That’s what I thought, until I made this happen. I walked out of the bedroom, and the husband liked it. He approved! Usually, he’s very-very traditional when it comes to style/fashion. If it doesn’t “match,” then it’s a no. Nothing about this outfit “matches,” yet it works. Thanks to all of my new blog-world friends for inspiring me to think outside the box!
