Double Denim Duo

Top: JCPenney | Jeans: aerie | Belt: Ann Taylor | Shoes: JCrew Outlet | Earrings: Target

#25 of the 30×30 Challenge

I’ve seen this double denim trend going around, and here I am trying it out. I think the floral belt helped break it up a bit and add some interest. This was my Man of Steel, date night outfit. I am always cold in movie theaters, and I need to be comfortable if I’m going to sit there for 2+ hours. This was the perfect movie outfit, to say the least.

I will give Man of Steel a 8.5/10. It was really good, just really long. And my body hurt from all of the fights, lol.

For the past few weeks, maybe even a month, I’ve had burger cravings. Major burger cravings. Growing up our family would grill out at least once a week, mostly on Sunday afternoons. Whether it was burgers and hotdogs with all the toppings or steak, potatoes and corn on the cob. We did it up big. I am a huge grilling-out fan, and so is Victor. Unfortunately, the 13 months we’ve been married, none of our apartments/living arrangements have allowed for us to have a grill. Can you say dumb?? McDonalds and Burger King just don’t do the trick.

This weekend, Victor looked up Fudruckers. We headed that way, only to not find it. Google maps and GPS’s don’t have much luck with directions in Puerto Rico. We ended up at Chili’s. I still ordered a burger, but fter it being completely raw the first time around and overly salted the second time…my burger craving was squashed.

All this to say, I wore this outfit to eat a burger….and it didn’t go so well! I will always be a meat-a-tarian, though.

Just a quick date night outfit! We went out celebrating our new apartment and just life in general. The Macaroni Grill commercials forced us into their restaurant… YUM! Then, it was off the Fast & Furious. What an awesome movie… I’m usually more of a chick flick movie type of girl, but I make an exception for fast cars. :)

As I mentioned yesterday, I swapped out and added this top to my mix. I love its springy colors…oh the endless possibilities.

Now, let’s talk about the rain. Victor and I were checking out an apartment. On our way back to the car, the rain came. Like crazy! We were completely drenched when we reached our parking spot. I’m surprised these pictures don’t look worse. Although the pants do look quite drenched. Memories!

I tell you, my new life in this blogging world has completely changed my look on my own personal fashion/style. I never used to wear belts… Love them now. And then there’s this chambray top. I never thought this look would ever be ‘me.’ I would have tossed it in a hillbilly/country girl’s wardrobe. Nope. It’s chilling in my wardrobe, and I’m in love. I really want to purchase a polka dot chambray. How fun are they? We’ll just say it’s a necessity.

I’ve had such a wonderful time having my mom here for 2 full weeks. It’s our last full day. Sad. This past weekend we went hiking up to a waterfall, walking all around Old San Juan, and then drove all the way to the other side of the island to one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been too. Our friends from school got married last week and were honeymooning here. We sneaked them outside of the hotel and took them with us. It was so much fun!! (Pictures are being compiled and all organized…coming soon!)
